A Polity Owned by Puppets, Guided by Aliens

After a disastrous failure to give the nation a new constitution, Nepali politicians have once again set out to seek ‘help’ from India to ‘complete the peace process.’

Deepak GajurelA quarter of Nepalis accuse India of interfering in Nepal’s internal affairs which Indians repeatedly deny. Nay, our southern good neighbor is not doing that! Rather Nepali politicians are to be blamed for dragging in foreign powers as their masters.

A cursory review of the past nine years’ experiences of so-called peace process in Nepal resolutely establish that our ‘Loktantrik‘ parties and leaders have been seeking ‘guidance’ from and giving a ‘role’ to India, and to the West, in governing this Himalayan nation.

The current Interim Constitution was ‘made in India.’ Don’t believe? Listen to one of the coalition leaders of parliamentary parties who counter-signed the ‘historic’ documents, namely, 12-point Delhi agreement and Interim Constitution. This is Narayan Man Bijukchhe, who, in a radio talk show, informed the Nepali people that the Interim Constitution was received in Kathmandu written in Hindi which has had to be translated into Nepali language, proof read, printed, signed by the ‘revolutionary’ leaders, and finally, promulgated.

After a disastrous failure to give the nation a new constitution, Nepali politicians have once again set out to seek ‘help’ from India to ‘complete the peace process.’

India fostered Maoist ideologue and former prime minister of Nepal, Baburam Bhattarai, speaking in a Delhi seminar, urged India to play a role to patch the rifts among Nepali Loktantrik Ganatantrabadi, who cannot even stand straight on their own.

One of India’s leading news outlet Business Standard the other day quoted Bhattarai as saying, ‘To complete the peace process, India has a role to play in Nepal to create a conducive atmosphere so that the political parties in Nepal come together and make the Constitution agreeable to all.’

Past nine years’ experiences of so-called peace process in Nepal resolutely establish that our ‘Loktantrik‘ parties and leaders have been seeking ‘guidance’ from and giving a ‘role’ to India, and to the West, in governing this Himalayan nation.

If one believes Bhattarai, Nepalis do not have capabilities and guts to do anything. So, one of the prominent carvers of ‘New Nepal’ is inviting our southern friend, India, to do the job of drafting a new constitution for Nepali people.

It’s not that guidance is sought only from our southern neighbor. Some ‘historic’ jobs have also been accomplished with the ‘help’ of other alien powers.

Listen to the incumbent Prime Minister Sushila Koirala who sometime back revealed that secularism was not decided by then cabinet, but inserted magically without anyone’s knowledge, into the Declaration by unconstitutionally restored (by King Gyanendra upon pressure from within and without) House of Representative few years ago.

Apparently enough, Nepali commoners do know what factors were involved in deviating from Hindu Kingdom into a Secular one. Geometrically propagating Churches across this Himalayan nation speak loudly the truth.

The so-called peace process was started when India brought together ballot-bearers parliamentary parties and bullet-loving Maoist through 12-point agreement, which goaded regime change in Kathmandu, sidelining centuries old Monarchy.

However, having almost a decade’s experiences with foreign guided politics, it is by now proven that these so called ‘democrats’ are only puppets of their foreign masters.

Initially, both sides India and Nepal’s ‘Loktantrik‘ coalition, insisted that 12-point Delhi Agreement of November 2005 was the brain-child of Nepali politicians. The truth could not remain covered for long and came out when then Indian Foreign Minister, now the President of India, Pranav Mukharjee proudly claimed ownership, in Al Jazeera interview in 2010, that 12-point agreement was ‘facilitated’ (read guided) by India.

Lately metamorphosed ‘republican,’ former Pancha leader, currently the President of Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Pashupati Shamsher Rana has recently revealed that former Indian Ambassador to Nepal Shyam Saran, in April 2006, turned the table upside down.

An agreement was reached between the King and the agitating party leaders to continue with Monarchy in Nepal, which was blatantly torn down by Saran and compelled Nepali ‘Loktantrik‘ politicians to transform Nepal into a republican nation.

Feel the power of a lone Indian civil servant?

While a sitting Prime Minister of Nepal, Maoist supremo Pushpa Kamal, during his India visit, addressing a gathering in New Delhi, proudly announced that he was given shelter in India for eight and a half years during his 10-year long ‘people’s war’ in Nepal.

Then prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala once claimed that security problems in Nepal’s Terai could be solved in a minute if and when India helps to that end.

Obviously, the above is not a complete list of what Nepal has been up to since Delhi sponsored kickoff time.

However, having almost a decade’s experiences with foreign guided politics, it is by now proven that these so called ‘democrats’ are only puppets of their foreign masters.
